 WHY WE DID IT Advertising & Publicity Starting a new business in a competitive and crowded market is difficult. There are so many vans on the road, we think people are oblivious to most vehicle signage. We decided early on that we will not spend a penny on traditional advertising. Instead we'd put our money into creating a brand and customer experience that will set a benchmark in the industry that will increase over time. Afterall, we run a unique business model and are much more interested in innovating than copying. The project vehicle took a lot of time and money but it works! Children and drunk people are particularly drawn to the vehicle, and can be found hugging, chasing or pointing at the van. Please don't stop we find it very amusing! To help worthy causes Project Green Grass is available to green companies and charities only (often for free). We are open to suggestions on how to brand the vehicle for special events to raise awareness of green organisations or local charities. Events for the Grass Van The following have all benefited from the presence of the grass van: Green Wave event (supporting an environmental stall holder) Greenfleet National awards (used by the organisers and displayed main stage) Brighton Carnival 2008 (provided for free and towing a sound system for the Sunshine crew) Arts project - supporting a local artist launch some recycling themed projects Pier to pier adventure - provided free to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House childrens hospice in worthing Thankyou for your interest Project Green Grass has touched many people, and many people have now touched it, which seems fair. However, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public for their continued interest, and the many interesting people we meet who ask us about the van, green things and anything else. A big thankyou to the various suppliers involved who have taken a genuine interest in what we are doing and got behind the project. Thanks also to our friends, some of which were very patient during animated chats in the pub before we started the project and who bet we wouldn't do it (beers on you lads!). | |
